It rocks left, right, left, right, and so on. The summer of 1997
was the opportunity to get my sea legs. I served on the
M/V Caribbean Mercy
which is a
Mercy Ship
in the fleet operated by
Youth with a Mission (YWAM).
That makes me a "Y-was-er" (pronounced why-wuz-zer, the
past tense of YWAMer).
The ship specializes in reaching third-world port cities throughout
the Caribbean and Central America with disaster relief, sanitation,
building projects, clinics, critical eye surgeries, and so much more!
My duties on the ship were night watch when docked, and bridge duties
at sea. I miss life at sea more than most things I've left.
